Rewrite: $1\frac{1}{4}\cdot 3\frac{7}{12}=(1+\frac{1}{4})\cdot (3+\frac{7}{12})$
Expand: $=(1\cdot 3+1\cdot \frac{7}{12}+\frac{1}{4}\cdot 3+\frac{1}{4}\cdot \frac{7}{12})$
Solve: $=3+\frac{7}{12}+\frac{3}{4}+\frac{7}{48}$
$=3+\frac{47}{48}=3\frac{47}{48}$
